A |     Colombo, Oct 17 (UNI) Sri Lanka saw its earnings from the tourism trade fall in September for a second consecutive month due to weaker arrivals ahead of a more prospective season which has got underway from the start of October and ends in January.
According to the data available through September, tourism trade has brought in $ 53.6 million in foreign exchange, bringing the cumulative nine-month earnings to $ 946.4 million, the Daily Mirror reported on Monday.
The September earnings were lower than both July and August when the figures for those two months were $ 85.1 million and $ 67.9 million respectively.
In the same month a year earlier, the trade had earnings of $ 35.3 million from 13, 547 visitors when the country was under lockdowns, the newspaper said.
In this September, 29,802 tourists travelled to Sri Lanka which was below 37, 760 arrivals in August and 47,293 arrivals in July.
Sri Lanka’s monthly arrivals exceeded 100,000 through March as the country got off to a fine start to tourism with high hopes of the foreign exchange it could generate in 2022, after two years of near decimation of the industry due to the pandemic, the report said.
In the nine months, Sri Lanka has welcomed 526,232 visitors as tourists.
With the start of the winter season in Europe, Sri Lanka is looking at a possible increase in bookings, specially from countries such as Germany and Switzerland.
UNI MR。    जागरण संवाददाता, भागलपुर। जोगसर थानाक्षेत्र के आदमपुर चौक स्थित एक नर्सिंग होम के समीप किराए के फ्लैट में रहने वाले 40 वर्षीय रोहित पांडेय का शव बरामद किया गया है। शव बाथरूम में दुर्गंध छोड़ रहा था। उसके छोटे भाई के बार-बार कॉल करने पर भी जब रोहित कॉल रिसीव नहीं किया तब उसने घर वालों को इसकी जानकारी दी।,घर के अन्य सदस्यों ने भी रोहित को कॉल किया, लेकिन किसी तरह का जवाब नहीं मिलने पर छोटा भाई उसके फ्लैट पहुंच कमरे का दरवाजा खटखटाया। किसी तरह का उत्तर नहीं मिलने पर उसने घटना की जानकारी जोगसर थाने की पुलिस को दी।,कमरे के दरवाजे का लॉक तोड़ जब भाई के साथ पुलिस टीम अंदर प्रवेश की तो तेज दुर्गंध का सामना करना पड़ा। रोहित का शव बाथरूम में जमीन पर पड़ा बरामद किया गया है। उसके सिर पर जख्म के निशान मिले हैं।,जोगसर थानाध्यक्ष कृष्ण नंदन कुमार सिंह ने शव का मुआयना करने के बाद फारेंसिक जांच टीम से घटनास्थल की जांच कराई है। फॉरेंसिक जांच टीम और जोगसर थाने की पुलिस टीम रोहित की मौत को प्रथम दृष्ट्या हादसा बताया है। जो संभवत: बाथरूम में फिसलकर गिरने से हुई होगी।,जोगसर थानाध्यक्ष ने कहा कि सही तस्वीर पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट के आने पर सामने आ सकेगा। मृत युवक के छोटे भाई का कहना था कि रोहित बीते एक साल से भागलपुर में रहकर शेयर मार्केटिंग का काम कर रहा था। रोहित पांडेय आरा जिले के उदवंत नगर निवासी श्रीनिवास पांडेय का पुत्र था। उसकी मां पूनम पांडेय बिहार पुलिस में इंस्पेक्टर पद पर तैनात हैं।,मृतक के छोटे भाई ने बताया कि रोहित पांडेय को दस दिनों पूर्व छाती में तेज दर्द की शिकायत हुई थी। तब उसे आनन-फानन में जवाहर लाल नेहरू अस्पताल के आपातकालीन कक्ष में भर्ती कराया गया था जहां उसका उपचार चिकित्सकों ने की थी।,छोटे भाई ने कहा कि कमरा अंदर से बंद था। इस बात की संभावना है कि चक्कर आने या फिसल कर गिर गया हो जाने जैसे हादसे का भाई शिकार हो गया हो। कमरे का लॉक तोड़ने के बाद जब फर्श पर रोहित का शव देखा तो उसके सिर पर गहरे जख्म थे, अब पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट में ही सही बात सामने आ सकेगी।,छोटे भाई के मुताबिक, पिछले तीन दिनों से रोहित परिवार के किसी भी सदस्य का कॉल रिसीव नहीं कर रहा था। परिजन परेशान हो रहे थे, इसलिए वह रोहित के फ्लैट पर उसका हाल जानने पहुंचा था। पुलिस भी शव से निकलने वाले दुर्गंध से घटना चार दिनों पूर्व होने का अनुमान लगा रही है।。
